We are Greenbelt MD’s very own community street band. We draw inspiration from funk, pop and New Orleans Second Line tradition, and deliver with the passion of Mardi Gras and Carnival.

call 4:15, show4:45-5:45 Labor Day is chaotic so please leave yourself time and come prepared. Weather looks pretty good right now but it can be hot so be hydrated! We’ll start at the stage, parade through the entire festival (a warm-up to Monday’s full parade!) and then end up back at the main stage! We’ll start in playing formation (on stage or off TBD) feel like funkin’ it up Meeting on side of Granite bldg 115 centerway BLUES FEST likely: Parade in on 7 Nations Army superstition and/ or push it if needed This parade is ON as is a 35 minute set There’s a lot if TBD for this but we are playing a set afterwards. nothing but bangers! ok, this is ON! From the organizers We’ve formed an organizing committee to scope out the celebration and have decided that we will have a Roosevelt Center festival on October 4, from 12 – 7pm. The focus that day will be on music, and we would love to have the Honk! play early on in the festivities, around 1pm after Katy Gaughan’s drum circle. We’d also like to invite the Co-op to table during the event as has been done during other festivals in the Center. I look forward to hearing from you. The day simply wouldn’t be complete without the Honk! With Katy’s drum circle and the Honk! kicking things off, we’ll have ourselves a rousing, rowdy start! We always try to help with travel expenses for participating bands that have to travel from afar as best we can (we will be in touch with you about this later if we haven’t already discussed it). Keep in mind, though, that we are a non-profit organization with limited resources. Our big winter event, now in year 3!!!
Let’s meet on the side of the Granite Bldg 115 Centerway (across the sidewalk from the New Deal side entrance) Remember: The Labor Day festival makes parking much trickier than typical. Best to be dropped off if you can or walk in from a neighboring street.
